Smartfloor Checklist

Smartfloor Checklist before you begin installation:

  • Smartfloor Installation & warning instructions
  • Smartfloor approved floor drawings of final floor
    • Depending on your preference, Smart floor was ordered in separate modules to be assembled together at your facility or an assembled floor
  • Configuration of the Smartfloor for your vehicle
  • Smartfloor profiles and hardware supplied
  • Sika Aktivator 205
  • Sikaflex 552AT
  • Warning – Before starting installation, always read instructions on how to handle, store and use materials

Smartfloor Profiles

  • SmartFloor is made up of a number of specially designed profiles
  • Clearances are the responsibility of the installer. The minimum profile length is 39.3″ / 1,000 mm
  • Smartfloor can arrive a number of different ways:
    • All profiles loose and at one of our standard lengths
    • All profiles cut to your approved length
    • All profiles cut to your approved length, with the Left and Right floor sides machined
      • Send an AutoCAD or STEP file of your floor perimeter
      • If it’s your first time having a floor machined, then it is highly recommended that you start with one floor having the Left and Right floor sides machined. Make sure everything is okay, and then progress through the items below as desired

Glue Smartfloor

Once floor is fully assembled, select the carpet/flooring and cut to size; fold flooring/carpet halfway.

Glue SmartFloor using Sikaflex 255FC. Apply glue to all raised surfaces that come into contact with SmartFloor. Use roughly 600 ml Sikaflex 265 per m2. Placing the SmartFloor in vehicle as one entire floor or split floor depends on your approved floor plan. After placing SmartFloor in the vehicle, press the glue beads down thoroughly by walking carefully across floor. Once the floor has been mounted, flooring material can be fitted. Seal all holes to prevent debris, moisture, etc. We recommend filling any gaps with 1/4″ spacers or wood to eliminate height differences.

Apply glue

Seal all holes

If necessary, add plastic spacers

Assembly, Connecting Profiles

  • Once all the profiles are assembled together make sure either the front of the floor or the rear is square prior to inserting the aluminum plugs
  • If applicable (for complete floors), bolt the hoist bar in the middle of the floor to hold the floor together and stabilize the floor as you insert the plugs
  • Connect the profiles at both ends of SmartFloor using aluminum assembly plugs. For floors longer than 132.28″ / 3,360 mm, we recommend fitting an extra assembly plugs half-way along the profiles
