Installation Complete

  • Trim and apply silicone accordingly
  • Installation complete!

Securing Rails to Smartfloor

  • Place all the track bars/rails onto the cavities of the floor
  • The rails are fixed to the base Smart profiles
  • The bolts required are supplied with the floor.  The most commonly used are M10 bolts (property class 10.9) or A2 stainless steel bolt (class 70).  If required, M10x200mm bolts and locknuts can be supplied with the Smartfloor
  • Recommended torque is 15 ft/LBF

Selecting Carpet/Flooring

  • Important – We recommend if you are installing Smartfloor for the first time/new designed floor to do a ‘dry fit’ before the floor is glued
  • Once floor is fully assembled, choose the carpet/flooring and cut to size.  Fold flooring/carpet halfway
  • Evenly apply glue to both flooring and Smartfloor.  Allow 5 minutes to dry
  • Once dried, fold back the flooring using a cloth to apply pressure evenly throughout the half portion with the glue
  • Once done, fold back the other half and repeat the process
  • Once the complete flooring is glued and dried, trim the carpet/flooring accordingly

Installing Smartfloor into the Vehicle

  • IMPORTANT – Using the same bolts off the track rails from the middle of the floor, install the hoist bar
  • Apply the necessary torque to keep the bar straight and tight.  This will keep the Smartfloor flat, avoiding any bulging of the floor, creating no contact with glue
  • Verify if floor is flat or level by placing a steel bar across the rear of the vehicle on top of all the rails
  • Multiple people are needed for this step to avoid any damage to the inside of the vehicle or injury
  • We recommend 3-4 people just to guide the floor into the vehicle.  Once verifying the floor is flat and centered, remove the hoist bar and double-check if floor is aligned accordingly
  • Place 2 or 3 pieces of 24″ x 26″ x 1/2″ plywood onto the floor and walk on it.  This will insure the floor will be set evenly and keeps the floor clean.  If necessary, move the plywood and continue the process
  • Check under floor obstructions or any other items that can be damaged by installation of Smartfloor
  • Clearances are the responsibility of the installer
  • The minimum profile length is 39.3″/1000mm

Plastic Spacers

  • Apply glue on the areas of the vehicle floor where the plastic spacers will be installed
  • Lay the spacers down on top of the glue and press it down
  • Make sure its repeated throughout the floor
  • Starting from the front of the vehicle apply 6″L x 3/8″H 552AT beads evenly and consistently across the floor from left to rise and vice versaApply glue on those areas of the vehicle floor where the plastic spacers will be installed
  • This includes placing glue on top of all the spacers, leaving intervals of approximately 2″-4″ between rows of glue
  • Apply glue to all the holes not being used on the floor; this will block moisture and noise
  • Continue until the floor is complete
  • Important – It is critical to install the Smartfloor into the vehicle within 10-15 minutes after completing the glue laying process, do not go over the recommended time. After 15 minutes, the glue will start setting and leaving a dry film on the top surface of the glue bead
  • Helpful hint – Recommend setting a timer as a reminder

Cleaning & Applying Sika Aktivator-Bottom of Smartfloor

  • Repeat the same process of applying Aktivator 205 to the bottom of the Smartfloor
  • Using the same dust mop, apply in the same direction of the rails/profiles on the Smartfloor
  • Allow 5-10 minutes to dry
  • Prepare Glue 552AT and Tools
  • Important – gather the number of Sikaflex 552AT glue tubes necessary to glue the Smartloor
    • Insert the Sikaflex 552AT glue tube into the caulking gun
    • Use the correct tip 8mm hole with a 9mm height guide.  This controls the flow and height of the glue beads throughout the floor

Cleaning & Applying Sika Aktivator

  • Apply Sika Aktivator 205 starting from the front of the vehicle.  Use a small dust mop, mopping the Aktivator in the same direction as the ribs on the vehicle’s floor
  • Allow 5-10 minutes to dry

Tools for Installation

IMPORTANT – Smartfloor

• Carefully read, understand and follow instructions before installing floor
• Failure to follow instructions can result in product malfunction causing an accident
• The product must be installed, repaired/modified by AMF-Bruns, SmartFloor or an authorized certified registered dealer that has been fully trained on the installation process
• Inspect underside of the vehicle floor and note wiring, frames, cross-members, fuel tanks and other possible obstructions before beginning installation
• Use only hardware supplied
• Check to ensure SmartFloor is not damaged
• Seal all holes to prevent moisture, debris, etc
• The approved SmartFloor Dealer Program, AMF/SmartFloor will conduct random checks on the installation

  • Warning – If installing Smartfloor for the first time or doing your own cutting, always do a dry fit in the vehicle before using the glue
  • At the end of the course there will be a quiz.  You need to obtain 100% to receive your training certificate

• If you have any questions during installation, contact AMF-Bruns/SmartfFloor.

Securing Rails Through Vehicle Floor

  • Each rail MUST be thoroughly secured to the vehicle in line with a bodywork reinforcement strip (seen from underneath) at between 1.96″ – 9.84″ / 50–250 mm from the end of the rail.
  • This also applies to rails terminating by a wheel arch. Use M10 Bolts (property class 10.9) or A2 stainless-steel bolts (class-70).
  • A locking plate must be fitted under every nut on the vehicle’s underside. These are supplied with the floor.
  • The rails are fixed to the base profiles. The bolts required are supplied with the floor. The most commonly used are M10 Bolts (property class 10.9) or A2 stainless-steel bolts (class-70). Recommended torque is 15.0 ft. / lbs.
  • If required, M10x200mm bolts and locknuts can be supplied with the Smartfloor
